I'm trying to run Tomcat 5.0 on a windows server that already has Tomcat 5.5.7 running (I need the older version as well). When I run catalina.bat the script executes but just hangs after telling me it ran in 8xxx and there's no new Tomcat service visible in the windows services list. I've tried all the obvious things like ensuring the port of 5.0 are different to 5.5.7. I suspect that it's not possible to have both running on the same windows server. Does anyone know for certain?

I don't think you can have two tomcat *services* running, but you can certainly have two non-service installs running as long as the catalina_home env vars are different for each console, and the ports are different (including internal ports such as 8002 etc).
