On a form in the detail area...I have two fields at the top
of the detail area of the form... This form is from a query....then I place section that have several pages on one of the pages I and trying to link a sub form from
a table with two key fields which are the field at the top which
is how I am trying to link this table and add data to the table
the first key field "A"shows in the sub form the second key field "B" shows # ERROR......now the second problem is I have
several date fields (short date) and if you try to type the date
or select the date it gives the message Field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add try insertin or pasting less data???

Thanks in advance can anyone help out?

Are the two fields at the top actually bound controls? Does the data type and values of these "two fields at the top" match exactly with the data type used in the Link Master/Child of the subform?

You mention "short date" when Access does not have a short date data type that I am aware of.

I will check out the exact match but do they need to be bound controls how do I check that out?....Short date is the format type..

No more help it needed it Duane.....fixing the one problem fixed both problems......

I had both as text ....was dealing with oracle char...
but had different field size once I made them equal now it works!

Thanks again!
