Two page Crystal Report for possible duplexing.

Hi,

How would I create a CR that is 2 pages for each record. For example, I have a medical form that is 2 pages long per individual. At the moment I have created 2 seperate reports, 1 for each page. And I then print them seperately. But it would be better if I could create 1 report that would print both pages at a time. That way I could duplex the printing and print each individuals information on 1 piece of paper. Is there a way to have 2 pages on a Crystal Report this way?

Ido, I have tried using a sub report. But what happens is that it prints all the pages of the sub report and then it prints all the pages of the main report (or in reverse order depending on if you want the sub report to print first or last). Can you insert a subreport in a way that it will print 1 page of the main report and the 1 page of the subreport for each record in the database? That way I can get both pages for each record together to duplex on 1 piece of paper.

You can put the subreport at detail-section level, which will eat up a vast amount of machine-time.

Is it essential to use a subreport? You can force a page change: Right-click on the detail section and choose Format Section

It helps to give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods sometimes change between versions, and higher versions have extra options.

The subreport should be LINKED to the main report, so it shows only one page each time.

Alternatively, use the technique I described at: faq149-3226
but you can simplify it for this case (just add a table with 2 rows without any joins to the report).

Madawc, no it is not essential that I use a subreport. As a matter of fact, after reading your post I created a new report with 2 detail bands and made them each 1 full sheet in size and then in the format section put a page eject after each detail band and that works. That was all I needed to do. I was hesitant to do that before because I did not think you could make a detail band that big, but I know you can now.
