In my W2K server (DC) I have one NIC with private address that works well, in the same subnet I have some client and all works. I want to connect to the internet so I install a second NIC because I have to use the direct connection of my company. I assigned a public IP address but the server uses only the first NIC, no traffic through the second. Whot have I do?
Please someone helps me.

Have you installed routing or NAT on your server ?
Can you ping internet addresses from your server console ?
Do the clients have the right gateway set ? Peter Van Eeckhoutte

been down this road...make sure the nic you want to get to the internet with is your #1 nic,,,and the nic to the intranet is the # 2 nic...under network neighborhood, properties, protocols, tcp/ip protocol,,,you'll find the adapter drop down line...worked instantly, once i switched them around...

hope this helps,
bodine

I installed NAT but it didn't work. I can ping the NIC but I can't ping any internet address, I can see that not even a packet pass through the card. I desabled the first NIC and I configured the second one as the first but I can't see clients, does it meen my sistem can't use that card and I have to change it?

You may have a default route that is pointing out of the internal network card, try defining routes to your internal network via the internal network card and make the default route point towards the (external) company network.
