is there anyway to have another line for second incoming calls to a DN on an M3902 single line set? I have tried to use the ADL key for a DN key unsuccessfully.
I thought the 3902 was a single DN set? That was its limitation. Great phone for lobby, courtesy phones, etc. You have some feature keys on it, but I remember it to only allow one SCR/MCR/ACD key (or one line key if you come from a key system background).
Can the usable keys take a (CWT) Call Waiting key? That gets closer to working like a 2-line phone.
For outgoing, almost all you need is to press the (AO6) Conference or (TRN) Transfer - then dial number, consult. Press hold to juggle back and forth, or release to drop one.
On the 3900 series, Transfer and Conference are not options unless there is a call in progress. They are soft keys and the features do not appear unless you can actually perform the feature. If you aren't on a call, there is no one to "transfer" or "conference".
Yep, if you are not on a call, there would be no need for those keys. I meant "if your on a call, you can hold the caller with AO6 and call another party" Two independant calls active on a 1-line phone.
Ohhh, I hade a full clip ready and aimed at Nortel in my last post - but you at least got me started.
People that are "sold" one line Digital sets:
There is only one customer that ever said "Boy, I am sure glad be bought so many of those convenient phones. We're proud and would reccomend Nortel to others."
For everyone else tricked into buying them, all it does is make a connection by users between "crappy phone" and "nortel"
oh ya, that one customer is
1)for regulatory or security (modems are not an option but we don't mind a periodic circumventing of that so we have an example firing.
2)for light chem/environmental risk (90V is not an option)
Know whaqt else? Nortel didn't know that until I posted it. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it
