Hi,

I've got a problem with a HDD in W2k Pro, SP4 PC
(error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0.)
There are two harddisks instaled - one IDE and one SCSI.

Windows is installed on that SCSI drive.

But how do I know which drive is '\Device\Harddisk0\DR0'?

Chkdisk doesn't show any errors.

Thanks

Don't know if this will help you or not.
There is a little utility out there that I have found helpful in listing your computer hardware.
Just look for Belarc on Google, when that is installed it will give you a report of all your hardware in IE explorer.
Hope this helps.

Just an educated guess here. It is most likely the drive that your boot manager is loading from (whichever is set as boot drive in your BIOS - IDE or SCSI).

I forgot, you might be able to tell in Device Manager.

Same to ya (whatever it means)! Anyone who can't find the truth of that saying must be another victim of the govt. juvenile detention system (aka the public school system).

Hi,

thanks for the answers!
Device Manager doesn't tell about it.
Tools like Everest an Aida don't use this syntax, I will try Belarc.

Any other hints?

Hi again,

Belarc says Drive0 is the SCSI drive.
I hope Windows thinks the same.

Thank you.
