Two extension ring at the same time

Hello All,

I have no experience managing a Mitel environment and I've been asked to help with making a phone extension ring to another extension and vice-versa. Basically, they're hoping they get both phones to ring anytime one of the extensions is dialed. Our phone system is a Mitel 3300 ICP.

Any ideas where I should start?

Ringing another phone is easy, you need to provide the purpose. There are 4 or 5 different ways, each of which has advantages and disadvantages.

1) Multicall key appearance of other prime DN
Advantage - Simple
Disadvantage, Set not busy unless both keys busy.

2) Key Line Appearance of other prime DN
Advantage - Line lights when in use for either set, can be placed on hold and picked up at either set.
Disadvantage - line is busy if either set using line.

3) DSS/BLF Pickup key
Advantage - Press key to answer call, key can be used to call remote DN, Key lights if remote DN in use
Disadvantage - No caller ID before answer, No delay ring option.

4) Non-Prime appearance on both sets (multicall or Key Line(s))

There are Executive/secretary options that can be engaged depending on key type and required functionality as well.

Tell us why you want them to ring and just as importantly, how the call would be handled after answer or if not answered at all.

Thanks for the response. So if I wanted use the fist option you recommended...where would I configure these settings at? I have access to Mitel Management cosole.

Multiline Set Key Assignment

Configure key as Multicall, DN = other set, Ring = As required.
