hi,

i have an org of 2003/2008 dc's and file servers.

Our DNS have two names configured for each file server .

I.e. FOF-ESFE01 and FOF-FSES01

one is the actual neetbios name and the other a resolver in DNS

depending on the machine, the "resolver" when called (ie start - run - \\FOF-FSES01) either

open the shares ok, or
displays the error DUPLICATE NAME EXISTS ON NETWORK

2008/win7 machines seem to have more luck than 2003 at getting to the shares.

can any suggest a fix so that all machine can correctly resolve to both names without the error?

thanks in advance.
