Tech User... thats a laugh
Probably a really basic solution but can anyone help......
I need to show a series of amounts by two date ranges for comparison...
. Date 1 Date 2
Dept 1 Qty Qty

I have created
{@1st date range} in Date (2003, 10, 01) to Date (2004, 06, 30) and
{@2nd sate range} in Date (2004, 10, 01) to Date (2005, 06, 30)
but when I try to obtain qtys by these ranges all the data reads 0.

Because you are using 2 date ranges crystal might be getting confused with them. Have you tried using sub-report to contain the 2 date ranges seperately and then linking the sub reports on the group in the main report?

Create formulas like:

if {table.date} in Date (2003, 10, 01) to Date (2004, 06, 30) then {table.qty} //or 1 if you are counting

Then right click on each formula (placed in the detail section) and insert a summary(sum, not count). Then suppress the details section. This is essentially a manual crosstab.

Many Thanks for the quick responses. I went with LB's formulae, but cheers for both options.
