I was looking through some past posts but haven't really found a solution to what we're trying to accomplish.

We have a main store and a service department and right now our main store is using the Automated Attendant to pick up calls (with menu). The service dept has it's own direct line in and currently the calls are being answered by a person. We would LOVE to have a separate AA message and menu just for the service dept line. Is this feasible with our current hardware?

Thanks for your Help!

yes but you would need a tech to go to your site

what he would need to do is split the ports on the tvs 100 you may need to add a couple of new ports onto the v/mail dependent on how many you have installed.
with the ports split you can then assign a custon message to eagh company......basic stuff

You need to set-up DILL to an XDP call forward to VM that way you will call forward to an VM port that is set-up for that group.{TVS-50-125-320 use the truck group port}

If you need more detail & set-up for your needs let us know. I set-up a few the same.

Since I'm pretty sure I don't have a clue what you're talking about maybe you could 'splain? I can do some of the basics with the system, setup/change/move extentions, add lines, setup mailboxes, etc. but nothing too fancy. I DO have the PC access to both the PBX and the TVS though. BTW, the one I need to configure is a TVS100 (connected to a KX-TD1232).

Thanks!

Greg

not sure you have trunk service on a tvs 100
you can split the ports up though in voicemail groups
on the 1232.

ok the split vm ports up as described above and set your
ringing assignments accordingly.

Alright, I know it's been a while but I'm back at it.

We have 4 ports.

I'd like to take 1 or 2 ports and make them look like a separate company (their own messages and menus). It should only do this for calls coming in on a particular phone number (CO).

I think I understand how to create the menus and messages but I'm unclear as to how to 'split' my vm ports. Can someone clear this up for me?

Much Thanks!

Greg

very easy see voice mail groups and set up your ringing assignments accordingly!!

Where should I look for this info?
Sorry I'm so lost...

I think I've got the Ring Assignments part; in the KXTD-1232 I assign the Day/Night Mode to the proper VM Extention (x167 in this case) but I'm still not sure about the Voice Mail Groups...

Thanks again!

Greg

a v/mail grp is more or less the same as a ext grp set 2 x of your v/mail ports(exts) into a group then when company a : get a call point it to that group
setup another ext group (v/mail grp)then when company b get a call point the dil: to that grp..above all programed on phone system...

set your voice/mail with 2 x company greetings greeting 1 for company a
and greeting 2 for company b
set v/mail ports 1-2 to answer with greeting 1 & ports 3-4 to answer with greeting 2
setup custom message menu 1 to answer with greeting 1
and setup custom message menu 2 to answer with greeting 2

and thats the basic how to
also read next post peter

dependant on your setup company name wise ...you might be able to perswade the companys to have a joint greeting ...like this
lets sat you have 2 x companys company a name: jjburne inc
and company b name: selco

you could the v/mail as follows a lot easier.

1. call arrives
2. v/m answers thank you for calling
3. costum 1 menu plays.. for selco dial 1 for jjbyrne inc dial 2
4. when the customer dials 1 then custom mesage 2 is played with the menu for selco
5. when the customer dials 2 then custom mesage 3 is played with the menu for jjbyrne

this way the voicemail would be able to take 4 x calls at a time unlike the above example where the v/mail would only be able to take 2 x calls at a time to each company

well there you have it hope this clears up a few things

peter

That definitely clears things up! Thanks a LOT!

Option 1 was what I was thinking.

Option 2 (one message, four ports) might be doable but we've been directing traffic to a separate phone line but I guess we could just have THAT number point to our regular main number.

Option 2 is definitely EASIER as I wouldn't have to change anything except a few of our menus and messages.

Thanks again. Hopefully I can get it working to the boss's satisfaction!

Greg

Please NOTE!! that the TVS-100 have no truck service

Noted. We ended up going with option #2 above. It was easy to setup, easy to understand, easy to change and it keeps all four ports of our TVS together for higher availability.
