Is it not possible to twin 2 or multiple 5010's together? The situation I'm in is we have our maintenance department in another building and I would like every phone over there to ring at once if an extention is called but the only way I can seem to get it to work is adding a multicall button to each set. Is there another way to do this? Also is there a way to make 1 general mailbox for this dept that all of them can access and that will flash on all of the phones? Thanks in advance.

do you have system option 84 enabled?
Suite services may work for you.
Do they want to dial only one number for all the sets to ring and how many are we talking about?
If you have docs read Suite Services and see if that will work.
Also there is a way to have one mailbox for the department and use "mailbox" that will light when there is a message in a defined mailbox.

Yea right maybe if I didn't have to pay $800 for every option I would have that but I can't use that. How come twinning won't work. When I try to put the assoc # in the field for the twinned phone it says invalid.

yes and when i go to enter in the assoc (ext.) number of the twin phone it says the access code in field 11 is invalid

what type of sets do you want to twin?
I believe the assoc is only for ons.

5010's. so i guess the only way is a multicall line? but how do i make a general mailbox that will blink on all phones?

if you have the number you are calling cfb/na to a mailbox and the cos of that mailbox must have option 231 or 232 even if there is no set on that PLID, then add the key to the 5010 sets that is "mailbox" and the number of the mailbox under the "ext num" field. Then when there is a message in that mailbox it will light the mailbox key light on all the phones. Works great.
I use phantoms and this feature for general mailboxes or ACD mailboxes, but there are lots of applications for it.

i'm not sure what you mean by cfb/na to a mailbox.

also how do you set up phantom ext to transfer to external numbers without haveing to purchase the $800+ feature that lets you do it from you mailbox?

cfb/na - call forward busy/no answer.
I always create a phantom bay, bay 7 and now in form 53 you can designate it as a phantom but could always do this even in the 200 digital/light.
Add a line card to the phantom bay in form 1 and add extensions to it, now with the new software they do not count in your total devices. NO COST. There is not a switch that I program that I do not us phantoms.
The phantom extension can be tenanted call forward to speed call if you wish, very flexible day, night 1 and night 2

i seem to be having a bit of trouble. do i need to readjust the alarm thresholds? now i have a major alarm. how do i set up to forward to cell. i have the phantom bay 7. slot 1 ONS card. circuit 1 is ext 759. now i set it as tenant 2 and go to the routing table and try to change anything to the system abrev dial entry is that what you mean? or what do you mean by speed dial?

you will have to adjust the alarm thresholds for staions for that bay and system wide.
In tenant 2 for that extension you can set call forward busy and/or no answer to go to a speed call bin (sc100 for example or to mail). The phantom will look busyout in maintance but that is ok.
Speed call is the same as abbreviated dial but it will show up in various parts of program i.e. tenant as "sc

you just saved my life thank you soo much!

now how do i get the 911 alarm monitor point to work on the phantom bay instead of wasting a actual line. also how do i make the major alarm go away?

I am not sure what you mean get the alarm monitor on the phantom bay, I don't know why you would want that, maybe an explanation of your application would help.
To get rid of the major in your case you have to log into "maintenance" with the "installer" password. Then go to system-set-alarm_thresh-lines and go "more" until you come to system bay and go into those to set. Go 1% higher than indicated and "enter" past "critical" do not go there.

Your 911 notification question should be a new thread.

911 notification can be received at any multiline set with the appropriate COS options enabled and the Alarm key programmed on the set. The manual is fairly clear on this application and how to program.

no i'm talking about the ONS notifications i already ahve the multiline sets working. I actually have it working fine but I would rather use a phantom instead of an actual and it says that the ext on the phantom is not valid when i program it in form 19.

if you program the phantom ons port on a muliline phone that may work, have not tried it though this way.

ok for some reason on NIGHT 1 the phantom extension doesn't transfer to the speed call number instead it loops back to the auto attendant. yes i have the sc set for day night 1 and night 2. have any ideas why its doing this?
