Hi All,

Just wondering for a question I have been asked from a client. I haven't been able to get it to work but is it possible to twin a phone with and international number? and if so, is there a special class of service option that needs to be enabled?

Cheers,
JCCDM

I cant see why not , it may take a while for the international number to start ringing due to the setup time

online help says this
System speed calls can be included in the EHDU the external number, provided they are at the beginning of the external digit string. The combination of speed call number and EHDU external number cannot exceed 26 digits.
might have to look at COR of the EHDU extension

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

When you say you haven't been able to get it to work, what are the failure conditions ?
Error tone ? Voicemail picks up first ? Ring no answer ?

If SMDR is enable you should be able to see if the EHDU user is placing the outbound call.

If the call setup time is the issue you could test by removing the call reroute first alternative so it rings indefinitely and see if the call connect to the international number after some time.

Sorry for the delay on getting back on this one.... I found that MiCollab didn't save my COR settings correctly so I updated them again and it worked as it should.

Further question on this topic though, are there any security flaws that could be taken advantage of by doing this?

Is External Hot Desk permanent login enabled in the COS ? Does the user have the ability to login/out from the EHDU access number ?
The only security issue i can think of is if an external user can change the EHDU number remotely. With a weak PIN they could in theory log the user in as a different international number. This is not a common method of attach as it's somewhat unique to mitel, and the FAC's are configurable and not the same on every system.

Still a good idea to ensure any device that doesn't need international (especially VM ports) are in a COR that blocks international. This EHDU should be the exception.

yeah definitely , lately hackers have deals with owners of premium services
they make calls to these numbers ( normally international) and split the profits
if they change the EHDU international number to a premium service they can then make multiple calls the indial for that extension and start raking in the cash

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
