We are running IP Office v4.1(12) and our twinning mobile numbers disappear after a short time when we enter them into the manager. Has anyone experienced this problem before?

We have not made any major configuration changes to the IP Office and this seems to be an ongoing issue.

Thanks.

Have you checked the Audit Trail? It say in there who and when made changes. Have the users been entering the short codes to change this! I have not seen this issue myself.

I never tried it but do they use phone manager
Could it be that the user changes it or that there profile is stored without a mobile twinning number (that part i never tried)
So when they open phone manager they have no twinning number and it is changed in the ipoffice

Just a mind crack :)
I can't test this right now so a wild thought

Well I just confirmed that the mobile numbers get erased right after an Immediate reboot of the system. Does this help with any clues by any chance?

How many twinning licenses do have, and are there programmed?
Swapping twinning users could give some trouble. Could try to remove them all, upload the config en tick twinning again.

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

I have seen this same behavior in 4.1. It seemed to happen after a configuration change to a user. After the merge, that user would have all twinning setting erased. None of the people in our office use Phone Manager so Iknow that is not the problem.

We are now on 4.2 so I am waiting to see if it continues to happen.

I started a system monitor while doing an "Immediate" save and reboot, I got this:

It looks like a bug in the system where my licenses are invalid at startup, but then the system validates them. Avaya is currently looking into this issue since I have the proper licenses.

I will let you know.

Thanks,
-I

Your licenses are invalid or you have more people configured with twinning then you have licenses. Confirm that you have the exact number users/licenses. As soon as you enable mobile twining. when you make a change it will validate the number of licensed users. if you configure more it will erase the settings for you.

Nice!!

This happens when I enable just one user for twinning, so it is not having too many users configured issue.

If my licenses are invalid, then why do they show up as valid in the "Licenses" tab?

I still think that it has to do something with an incorrect license or a bug with a way the system starts.

Please look at the log before for this confirmation.

First it says:

30034mS LIC: Licence for "VPN IP Extensions" is INVALID
30035mS LIC: Licence for "Phone Manager Pro (per seat)" is INVALID
30035mS LIC: Licence for "Voicemail Pro (4 Ports)" is INVALID
30035mS LIC: Licence for "Phone Manager Pro IP Audio Enabled (users)" is INVALID
30036mS LIC: Licence for "Mobile Twinning (users)" is INVALID
30036mS LIC: Licence for "Mobile Twinning (users)" is INVALID
30037mS LIC: Licence for "Mobile Twinning (users)" is INVALID

then it says:

50959mS LIC: Licence for "VPN IP Extensions" is valid
50960mS LIC: Licence for "Phone Manager Pro (per seat)" is valid
50960mS LIC: Licence for "Voicemail Pro (4 Ports)" is valid
50960mS LIC: Licence for "Phone Manager Pro IP Audio Enabled (users)" is valid
50961mS LIC: Licence for "Mobile Twinning (users)" is valid
50961mS LIC: Licence for "Mobile Twinning (users)" is valid
50962mS LIC: Licence for "Mobile Twinning (users)" is valid

No word from Avaya tech yet. Will let you know the outcome when he contacts me
