I have created a call flow for one user that enables and disables Mobile Twinning or collects voicemail through a menu prompt in the users Collect Call Flow. This is working with out problems. I would like to copy this setup to other users who have a twinning license.

Is there any examples or can anyone share an example flow that could be created as a module so I wouldn't have to copy and paste each action 40 times and manually change each extension number...?? :(.

example code: CFG:Set "Callers Mailbox Variable" twinning_type Mobile

Or is there a system variable for the originating callers voicemail extension??

Thanks,

Scott

This is very similar to my setup, but in this example its for a user with extension 203.

Is there a variable that could be used in place of "203" so that this module could be used by other extension, ie ext 203, 204 ,205 etc..

without creating a separate module for each extension...

thanks

Try making it go thru a menu with like 3?? or what ever your extensions are. then have that go to you next item and instead of putting in the extension in the specific use $KEY. so you willhave a menu that says please enter your extension. then you enter your ext and Use $KEY to hold the extension thru the rest of it.

Kevin,

that could work but I have it set so that the call flow starts when the user logs into the IP Office voicemail system. This way they have to enter their extension and password. I want to point the User->username->Collect flow to the Twinning module.

so if I collect voicemail remotely or dial *17 and enter my extension #, then password #, I get the menu with the options for twinning or voicemail collect. is there not a system variable that returns the users mailbox number or extension number that was entered. I see in the "Leave mail" action you can use "Callers Mailbox" or manually set the mailbox extension. is there no variable to do something the same for CFG:Set "callers mailbox" ..... ???

Nope. VMP doesn't know a user's extension. It only knows a user's username. Twinning is an IPO option not a VMP option so using the username isn't an option... WOW that was an overuse of the word "option"!

You could do try this...

SC
*17
Voicemail Collect
?UD,E (may need to add more ,)

Then create a menu to collect the extension and save it as a variable (e.g. CP0:$KEY) and use that in your twinning option.

Can't say that the D,E would work after the ?U but it's worth a shot.

I have done this before to allow short codes to navigate through an AA to a specific point.

Kyle,

I was able to do it by adding a Generic action in the Collect call flow for each user. Then I set a Save:ext# and a go to the module.

Then in the module I followed the example above and but replaced the extension number in the CFG: with $SAV and it enables and disables twinning.
I put another menu option 3 for collect mail and just set the specific to "Callers Mailbox"

I was even able to loop back to the module home so they could enable or disable as much as they wanted to and then collect voicemail without hanging up and calling back.

Works really great now, thanks for the help.

aarenot,

you can change the default start points, but not everone of my users extensions have mobile twinning. Plus in order to use the module with any user you need to use a variable for that users extension. and seeing as we determined there is no system variable for current callers extension, you have create one or in my case I used $SAV

so $CLI will work even if I call from an outside line and go through voicemail collect?

of course not, that would be very very very clever almost psychic. If you call from an outside line the $CLI is the number you are calling from.

well I designed call flow is designed so that sales reps can call in and turn it on or off by going through their own voicemail collect call flow. So the CLI does me no good when the users are at there own extension. Plus if they are in the office they can just use the twinning button on their phones. So my way of adding the $SAV at the users collect is a work around.
