TV out issues with an Elsa Gladiac

I have a problem with the TV output from my Elsa Gladiac 511 video card. I spent the whole of last night flashing the video bios, downloading the newest drivers and then messing about with messy cable and multiple control panels.

I have eventually got the darn thing to display a colour image on my TV but I appear to be limited to 640 x 480. This is crap and I need higher res if I am to continue functioning as a normal human being.

That said, Baldurs Gate rocks on my TV even if it is in 640x480.

Any help would be much appreciated.

well the problem you have is that a good tv will generally run normally @ 800/600 but some do not support this some like yours maybe will only run at 640/480 in any case you will not be able to view pictures at any higher res such as 1024 without you hearing a screaching scream from your tv leading to the telly blowing up! (no tv supports it)

run at 640/480 or
get another tv and run 800/600

have fun!
