Is anyone using a turnkey auto-attendant solution for their Partner systems? We are looking for a cheap, simple box that will give us auto-attendant ability at our stores. We are working with Mail VS now but were wondering if there is anything else out there that might be cheaper.

Joel

Hi Joel,
What features do you need? Day & night attendant? One thing about the VS - now - mail is it all fits in one box with the system. From what I've seen of most store chains, you absolutely do not want any more power cords or accessories. Not unless you want lots of service calls and downtime. It may be cheaper to stay the Partner Mail route.

Chris, I agree. I think we should go with the VS, but they want us to look around and see whats out there. Its a practice in futility when I know that the other choices wont work out for us. VS offers what we need when it comes to the auto attendant.

Hi Joel,
Just try to get them to see the other costs that we call "intangables". There are many other options, from DXD/ASA cards to autoattendant boxes and external voicemail units (computer - standalone).
What are they looking for?

What about a PVM card? - lot of functionality for very little money!

Yup, I was going to suggest that if they only needed one greeting for day & night. Frees up a slot too. Any chain stores I have installed have a day and night greeting though.
Hey Joel, was there a resolution here? Or, is management still looking at options?

We tried using the PVM card, but they did not like the limited ammount of transferring that we could do on it. With the VM I was able to do more specialized transferring that they wanted. As for now, it seems like we are going with the VM boards.

Thanks to all for your help.
