OK, this is driving me insane. I'm trying to stop wasting paper by turning off the banner page and i can't figure it out. Here's what I've tried:

1. print panel - we don't have the impressario software to get to the "more options" which will turn it off

2. tried this:
`echo nobanner >> /var/spool/lp/settings/<printname>/<username>`
this didn't work.

3. there are 5 postcripts in /var/spool/lp/printer - I've set BANNER=0 in 4 of them. In the fifth, called "netface", I can't find anything mentioning "banner" to change. Is that the script we're accessing?

Does anyone have any idea how to turn this thing off before my company destroys a forest? We are running irix 6.5. Thanks a ton!

With the parameter -m of lpadmin, you can select a model file from /usr/spool/lp/model. Make sure that this model file contains "-nb" (no banner).

thanks for the help. i figured out how to do it - you have to telnet into the printer and set banner:0

Or you can look in the interface and where it says "banner=yes", change it to "no".
