I have a Norstar system, MICS 5.0 with ISDN PRI & Call Pilot 100.
Whenever a phone rings 4 times and goes to the voicemail DN the phone gives out a two tone alert. Does anyone know how to turn this feature off?
Try turning off Redirect Ring feature. This stops a phone ringing when Feature 84 is used, but maybe it works for the voice mail calls. I don't think there is a way, but maybe worth a try
I tried Redirect ring and it did not do it.
The phone even makes the sound when it is in DND state.
I am getting a lot of complaints about this feature, and I can't really blame them. The person will be on a call, get a second call, have to listen to the three rings and then have an alert sound out as well.
On a Handsfree call it just does not sound professional when everybody says "What was that sound?".
I just ran into this issue. The fix is to turn Call Forward with CLID off in the CallPilot. This is done in the individual mailboxes. This can be found in the CallPilot Reference Guide under Call Forward your calls and Call Forward with Caller ID.
Feature 981
ADMIN
GREET
CFWD
YES or NO to forward calls
Under Display caller, change it to no. This will turn Call Display off, along with the tones.
Not sure but I think you are referring to the f987 interrupt feature.
The phone beeps to let you know there is a caller leaving a message in your mailbox.
I don't think there is a way to turn this off.
