turnaround document in gentran 1

Hi

I am new to gentran,
what is the purpose of turnaround document in gentran?
what happens to it, once gentran has done with it

The turnaround document seems to be used to create an outbound document from and inbound one and send it back to the originator. I have only used it (along with some Gentran database manipulation) to carbon copy inbound documents to a third party for testing.

Hi Randy,

That's right. The turn around outbound document takes input from the inbound file and is either automatically or manually sent back to the originator of the inbound file you've received. It's quite handy for doing invoices when receiving orders for example. The 997 or CONTRL ack. message can also be defaulted in GENTRAN as a turn around document.
