Turn on Outward Restriction Without Using Manager 2

Anyone know of a way to either turn on Outward Restricted or apply a Restriction set to an extension without using Manager or going to that specific extension and using the menu?

The scenario is one of a hotel with analog extensions in the rooms, and they would like to enable and disable external calls for the extensions in the rooms from the phone at the front desk. I am in the process of building a VM Pro shortcode to do some checking when it sees a 9 dialed, but I am hoping there is a better way that I am just ignorant to. Thanks in advance.

The IPO does not have any built in hospitality features

It may be possible to have a CTI application writen to perform the fucntions you require but that would also require the Tapi/Dev link licence.

I have vague recollection of a simmilar programm having been writen for the aLchemy system in the dimn & distant past but I could not tell you wher to find it.

Hi there Melmac - possibly simplicity is the way to look at this, could you not put a softconsole at reception and they can bar the extension from there?
