There is a feature that goes out an tests digital ports and then turns them off if a digital phone is not found. Is there a command to turn ALL the ports back on? Is there a command to turn the feature off?

Please provide detailed instructions for the commands as I am not a Norstar tech.

Thanks for the help!

The digital ports will not stay active unless there is a phone attached.

Agree with cook. On a M1 PBX the tdm ports will disable when the midnight routine runs if there is not a set plugged in. On a Norstar or BCM, you can leave it unplugged for three years and it will not disable.

OK, so it sounds like I'm stuck with the routine.

Is there a way to turn ALL the ports back on? If so, how?

you can not leave a digital phone unpluged from a Norstar it will go out of service. If you can please enlighten me.

Sorry Hawks, 1000% certain you can.

Rich, they'll say you should post on the Meridian thread, but you can use command enls x y in LD 32 where x is loop #, and y is shelf #, but no way to do all. I believe you could take LD30 out of midnights, but that would be foolish for other reasons. Understanding that M1s are not my specialty, even though I babysit and Option 81 now.

I just unplugged a 7316E and it went to not in service after about 10 minutes when you try to call the extension. Running MICS with 7.1.

dewy the command for the option switch will work like you stated, but just be aware of using it will disconnect any users that are up while the card resets.

Were miscommunicating. Yes, if you call it, it will say "Not in Service" in display, fully agree.

What I meant was that if you unplug an M1 set and it runs midnights, you cannot plug that set back in and expect it to work w/o enabling that TN (ENLU l s c u). On a Norstar/BCM you can leave it unplugged for 5 years come in one morning and the set will come up.

Ok I uderstand now sorry for the misunderstanding. I was kind of hoping you fund away to keep the port alive. thanks agin.

I'd be a rich man if I could accomplish that!

Ok this is the Norstar Forum, not the BCM or PBX forum. Post your question in the right Forum.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
