I did not install this system, but took over servicing it a while back. The phones have a programmed button with "Call Record" allowing them to record calls at will. When they do this, a message plays warning that the call is being recorded. This is not a requirement in the state of Iowa, so they want it removed. Where would I find this recording in order to remove it?

Thanks to technology, we can instantly communicate across the world, but it still doesn't help us know what to say.

I believe on voicemail [pro preferences untick play advice on recording if my memory is correct here

Since you are also in the US, I strongly recommend that you get a letter from the company that states they they understand the risk and assume all responsibility for any misuse or abuse. It is not a phone call or certified letter that you want to get.

Make sure that they get a legal opinion and that you get everything in writing. I seem to recall that, in some cases, opinions not only take into account the location of the business but also the location of any callers to/from that business. In that case, a caller/callee in a different state/country MAY still need some type of indication that the call is being recorded.

Thank you, that was it. Appreciate everyone's input.

I believe Gwebster is on to something there, outbound calls to another state or transferred (SCN?) into Ohio, may be food for the courtroom.

Kind regards

Gunnar
