Hi all,

I set up a Macro in Access to send Acess reports. However, when I run this macro, a message box with the wordings
"A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this". There are 3 options in the message box: Yes, No and Help.

Is it possible to send messages without seeing this prompt?

It is rather time consuming to wait and click on the prompts as there are a large number of reports to be sent out.

Many thanks in advance.

You are probably suffering from the Outlook's security update feature.

You'll have to tell the email client that's it's okay to allow your app to send. I haven't done it yet, but I do believe there is a workaround.

I've instanced Outlook itself in my apps, so I never have this problem.

Oh! If there isn't a known fix; and I do believe there is; you might be able to grab the event that starts the pop-up and stop it there. I'm assuming you are using Outlook.

The above requires an understanding of Outlook's object and event models.

Basically, you'd write an event handler that gets triggered in Outlook when the security event occurs and either clicks the okay button or just stops it from showing.

This of course assumes that the security event is trappable.

P.S. Hopefully there is a simpler way

You are going to need to modify your Outlook security settings to allow your macro to execute. The problem is that the security levels are to protect you, so if you lower your settings, then you may be more vulnerable to malicious attacks. Neil Konitzer

Hi

Thanks for the help. But How can event handler be constructed? It is using Modules in Access?
Or How can I modify Outlook security settings.

I am not able to locate these topics in the Help files.
Thanks in advance

This can be solved!

Because this is caused by network controls that are trying to prevent viruses from accessing the email system, it is not easy to solve using VBA code.

We were tipped off to a simple program available on the web called ClickYes. It gets loaded to your system tray and can be toggled on/off. When you are running a module, just activate it and it clicks yes for you - and fast!! (It's also great for removing that annoying box during PDA syncs!)

Here's the link...Good luck!
