Turn off AutoFill

Can someone tell me how I turn of the AutoFill option in Access 2000. Now it takes me double the time to edit my data.

Are you talking about data-entry via a combo box? If so, set the combo box's "Auto Expand" property to false.

Although you did not specifically mention it, I am assuming you are referring to listboxes and controlboxes. These types of controls have and Auto Expand property.

That property can be turned off in each of the controls' property sheet. In design mode you can select all of these controls by holding down the Shift key while clicking on each control. Then in the property sheet on the Data tab, set the Auto Expand property to No.

Now if you are having this behavior in textbox controls as well, I'm not quite sure what is going on. In that case you might want to check out the FilterLookup property help, found in the Visual Basic help screens.

If this is occuring in a text box, it may be that "Allow Autocorrect" for the text box is set to Yes.

Simply set it to No.

It occured in a table.
first record = 11 - down arrow
secondrecord = 12 - down arrow
third record = empty - Access filled this field with 13

After this I can push the down arrow and Access fills every field with the last number +1

Try setting a default of null on the effected column.
