What system? Option 11 or bigger stuff?

mister isp, this is a forum for merridian voice switches.. if your question is in the right forum we need to know the cab type to answer it.. nt 21 61c 81c or opt 11 all have unique tty limits and there is not a default for any system except the 11.. two ways to drop a tty... from the command prompt and logged in with pw2, >forc 12 with 12 being the tty number.. or ld 37 dis tty 12

Also, how are you connecting to the switch? Dialup or LAN?
If on the LAN, some products will leave Rlogin and/or KSH running in the task monitor. Make sure you kill those.
As John stated, go the the chevron > prompt and type 'WHO'. It will show you all the TTY sessions logged on. Then you can see a particular TTY such as TTY 10 that you want to forc off. from the > prompt, type - forc 10
Before doing that go to LD 22 and do;
REQ: PRT
TYPE: ADAN TTY XX
and print out all your TTY's so you know what function the tty plays and you may be able to isolate what is connecting to your switch.

CS1K is not a clear type of PBX. Is it a small or large system?

Small system are limited to 4 PTY ports to be defined
Killing "zombies" session is only possible by INIT the PBX.
If the session was not closed properly, pty port will be avaliable again after 1 hour. If the session doesn't come back again, there is a patch to clear up that kind of session. In some case, only init will solve the problem
