I have an Opt 11 C running rls 25 and when doing some acd report testing I outed tty 0. Now I can't put it back. In ld 37 it is not there, In ld 22 it is not there to print, and in ld 17 it wont let me build it. I can enter tty type, cab number and card number but when I put in port 0 it gives me sch5508 (port number already in use). Why? What have I missed?

Hi before you go to the vendors have you tried to reinstall a backup. This should bring back the TTY 0. Then you could make the last (hopefully) few changes you have made recently.

Try shutting down the system and reseating the ssc card. You may need a new ssc card if that doesnt work.

The only way to install tty 0 is to reinstall system software and use the default database, unless you are in possession of backup of the system prior to the outing of TTY 0.

I was afraid of that. I don't have a back up that can be used. Can I get by without tty 0? We need to do a T/N upgrade and I was informed that port 0 was the only place I could do it. What about backing up the switch to an external device, doesn't that need to be done on port 0?

If you are talking about to the a PCMCIA card then the answer is yes you must use TTY 0. I don't think that you can get by without TTY 0 there are some other things that you can only do on that TTY port.
