hi all,
we got TSM running on mainframe and the client is on aix p series, our backup for 800 GB data takes 36 hours to complete (using db2), is there any tuning to make it faster?

Make sure at the AIX client side, you specify the network interface speed to maximum. For example, in case of fast ethernet in the AIX box, set the network card speed at 100 Mbps. You can double check the network speed in your mainframe, set to maximum speed.

We had a similar problem.
The network adapters were set to AUTO NEGIOTATE and by setting to 100 MB FULL DUPLEX we achived much better throughout.
