Is it possible to convert my current TSM 5.2 server from UNIX to Windows? I would like to do this because i have more expertise in the windows systems than I do in the UNIX.

Depends on how you have your database volume configured. If it is a RAW Volume, then you will not be able to.

my 2 cents.

I have recently tried this, it turns out to be a bigendian vs little endian problem. Your best bet is to setup the new system (winows) as a library manager and checkin all the tapes
on this system. Then define the old server (UNIX) as a library manager client.
This will give you access to the old data.
Then export/import the clients over the network (use GBE).
The the import command also lets you merge the old data with the new data. The export will be faster if you have your old data collocated. Try t move smaller clients first and then delete their filespaces as this will trigger a reclamation. When it is time to move the last large clients the data will be easier to read for the tsm server.
