Hello there,

I recently upgraded one SGI Workstation to release 6.5.20 after that TSM Client is not working.
The message that it gives :-
------------------------------
Tivoli Storage Manager
Command Line Backup Client Interface - Version 3, Release 7, Level 2.0
(C) Copyright IBM Corporation, 1990, 2000, All Rights Reserved.

Node Name: ALPHA.BETA.GAMMA.EPSILON.COM
ANS1353E Session rejected: Unknown or incorrect ID entered
---------------------------------
I checked out on the other machines and the host name comes without the full qualification..e.g
---------------------------------
Tivoli Storage Manager
Command Line Backup Client Interface - Version 4, Release 1, Level 1.0
(C) Copyright IBM Corporation, 1990, 2000, All Rights Reserved.

Node Name: XEON
Session established with server ADSM: AIX-RS/6000
Server Version 4, Release 2, Level 3.2
Data compression forced on by the server
Server date/time: 10.09.2003 11:38:41 Last access: 10.09.2003 11:24:41
------------------------------------

Since in the first case it is taking the fully qualified name the DSM Server is not able to identify the client.
Can anyone please tell me how to make it work

Thanks and regards,
Thief

Hi,
in dsm.sys you can put a line identifying the client. I can't remember the keyword but it's in the documentation.

You should really change the hostname to not be a FQDN.

Make an entry in dsm.sys as follows

NODENAME ALPHA

(Assuming ALPHA is your registered node-name in TSM)

thanks a ton sair123 & Morsing. i have added NODENAME ALPHA in dsm.sys and its working back again.
