Hy all!
I'm using TSM 5.3.2 on a Windows 2k3 server to backup up a lot of Windows 2k3 Fileservers!
Does anybody know a way to see the NTFS Security Information of a file in the TSM Storage hierarchy without restoring it? As far a i know, the NTFS Information of a file must be in the TSM DB, and if it is, there must be a way to query these information?!

Thanx for your tips...

I tried to look and couldn't find anything either... sorry.

I would assume that the info attached to the file being backed up and not stored separately.

The security info is stored on file as part of its attribute

Thanx for your infos... So i think we'll let it be!

My idea was to use TSM as a "permission history". When a user tells "Last week it was working..." to our Hotline, then this would have been a nice way to query if anything has changed to the permissions of a folder on a fileserver...
Thanx anyway... Mike
