Hi,
We have a windows 2k3 server and a mix of clients. Some clients are thin while others are XP computers. There is no problem with the thin clients, but if I log out an XP computer and then try to log back in again the following message appears:

"Windows cannot connect to domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear, contact your system administrator for assistance"

The only way, I could figure out, is to keep on restarting the XP computer and eventually the log on will be successful ( sometimes it take about 6 to 7 restarts ), but that not the solution as the users get tired of doing that.

Any suggestion/help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Qureshi

Thanks for looking into the problem.

We are using IP to connect

The thin clients and xp machines in the same place? They connecting from the LAN a WAN or coming in from the internet? Could you elaborate on your network topology a bit? when the xp's cant connect can they ping the TS or the domain controller?

Seen this problem too many times - It is a DNS problem where the XP boxs did not register properly - One trick is to remove the offended XP box from the Domian the re- insert it making sure that once it has been added it shows up in domain computers.
