We are trying to evaluate a disk for hosting the Deduplication Store. When running the command: sidb -simulateddb -in instance001 -p d:\dedup_store -datasize 500 - the command prompt returns with no information. I tried to redirect to a txt file, but there is no data .. it's not doing anything. We are using windows 2008 64-bit R2. Does this command not work with this OS.

Also, we weren't sure what the -in instance was so we just put in instance001.

We are in the process of installing simpana 8 -- we want fast disk, and since we are using 3par, we don't think we need to use raid10 - we want to try Raid10 as well as Raid 5.
