Trying to Update Aloha 5.3.32

I downloaded the file that coorsman supplied. when I tried to run update reeceived this message:

This line is the error message: Mar 19 03:59:13 Aloha Update Severe...Aborting: no changes made to the system. Prerequisite [al21fw.dll] does not meet minimum requirement. Expected :0.0

Any ideas what I can do to fix/update?

You need to install C++ 2005 from microsoft. Are you licensed for 6.1? Unless you have a new license file from your dealer and radiant you cannot just upgrade Aloha. The License file only allows you to upgrade within your major version, 5.3 or 6.0 or 6.1 or 6.2.

No, I don't have the license for the upgrade. However, since researching a little further on here, I am thinking I may just keep my 5.3.32 and run a separate terminal to process my credit card charges.

Any thoughts upon that?

Thats the best option. You can add a payment key for credit cards, like case, check, CC, and provides a way to balance and track tips, the servers just won't swipe cards in the system.

There are efficiencies and labor savings when the CC processing is handled thru the POS system vs a stand alone terminal; what would a Ver 6 license cost?

I'm not a salesman, don't really know but every time you will need to pay. You will ask your dealer. They are the only ones that can sell you the upgrade. Make sure you get on 6.7 if you do. That's the latest version.
