Hi.

I have a 3300 Mitel phones system. I am trying to set up a speed call number to go to the extension, with no phone. It is giving me a busy signal when I call the speed dial number. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

What type of extension did you program? I would suspect an IP or DNIC. If you program an analog, it should ring. AND, depending on they type of analog, it will not take a license.

Why would you set up a SD to ring an extension that is not in use? I can think of a few reasons, but we should know why you are doing this.

It is an IP. I set up the extension and it says out of service and when dialing the SD it gives the busy signal. I can't even get the VM to set up.

All of my SD numbers are programmed to cell phones. This employee wants his SD set to go to his extension.

I'm sorry, by saying "I can't even get the VM to set up.", does that mean you cannot build a VM box for that extension? Or does that mean that calls to the SD or ext are not answered by the VM box?

Yes, I'm sorry...it meant I can't get a vm box for that extension. And I don't mean SD - I meant direct number.

Just reading into this ilovemitel;

- the extension is an IP set, do you have enough licenses for voicemail for this extension -or- does that mean that you created the voicemail, but callers never get to it?

- Then there is the "Call Routing Assignment" form to send callers to the voicemail... if you have created the mailbox, make sure it is pointing to the voicemail hunt group.

- for the Speed Dial are you using the short code under the FACs to get to the speed dial numbers? otherwise you will get a re-order tone... busy signal.
