Hi Folks,

IP Office rls 9
Customer wants to push one button, or dial one code to page both sets and speakers.
I know how to do this if the speakers were working off of an analog set port (set to paging speaker) as the dial page feature could be used on a hunt group ie 200main and also put the user/extension # of the analog port in 200main as well.

But, as the customer's amp and speakers are wired through a Bodgen Tamb2 paging interface devide, we had to change the analog port to IVR instead of paging speaker.

I can page sets with a button or code for dial paging 200
I can page speakers by dialing 245 (analog port set to IVR)

I have not found a way to do a code or button to do both at same tinme.
Tried building a new hunt group with 245 in it as well as a phantom user, which is call forwarded unconditional to a new short code for dial paging 200, but it doesn't work. Only pgaes speakers as 245 grabs each time a nd only pages speakers.

Help please!

Thanks for the reply!
Any thoughts on othe rways to make it work. For rexample, we sometimes use trunk ports to page through the Tamb2,although in this case I bekieve the tech onsite had tried and has trouble making that work - did not get the details on why that did not work yet.

If the trunk port were set up to get a voice path to the tamb2, is ther a way to then have it come on at the same time as the dial page 200? A sort code could seize the trunk port, but I don't know how we coudl also do the dial page 200.

Only possible with Paging speaker AFAIK. A shortcode can only do one thing, it can't also trigger other shortcodes etc :)

Why not take the Tamb2 out of picture completely?
Unless there is a special need for it, like contact closures or music switching.

So.
Connect the 600 Ohm INPUT of the paging amplifier directly to the Tip and Ring of the Analog Station Port that is programed for "Paging Speaker". (not IVR)

Then.
Add the Extension number of that Analog Station Port to the Hunt Group that is used for Dial Paging.

I do believe this will work, although I did not test it.

Bill - thanks as well.
I did earlier ask the tech to go around the Tamb2, similar to what you suggest, as they do not have a multizone device, or music on the amp.
But, when the tech changed the analog port (ext 245) from ivr to paging speaker, and tried dial page 245, and also dial page 200 (245 was a member of 200)it did not work. Dial page 245 just had dead air and dial page 200 paged the sets but not the amp / speakers.

I don't know the reason that this amp doesn't seem to work with the paging speaker port straight into it.

I have asked the tech to go back on site to look at all of the possible connections to the amp, to see if there is another input that could be used. I believe the working tamb2 was into the "telephone" port of the amp, and that is the one he tried going straight into with the paging speaker port. There is also Mic1 mic2 I believe.

Haven't looked for a manual yet, but found out that the amp is a Bogden Classic Series C60.
Current input ing used from tamb2 is marked telephone and is a screw-down connection. This is the port that the tehc tried to go directly into, from the analog set port, 245, programmed as paging speaker, but it did not work.

There are also inputs for:
aux1 - rca
aux2 - rca
mic1
mic2

Bill- Thanks again! It is working now. We may not have tried drectly in again ,had you not recommended it, as the techs had already tried that. Must have had somthing wrong when he tried it earlier. Now working without the tamb2.
Thanks!
