I'm fairly new to Indesign and I am trying to make one image on my page faded like a watermark but if I use transparency it changes the colour of my logo, a completely seperate image!

Is there a way to fade only one image and not the whole page?

Jen

Select only the element that you want to affect and then adjust the transparency palette. You can also experiment with the different blending/transparency modes in that palette for further effect.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

I do only select the image i want to change but when I use the opacity slider in the transparency section it changes the other image as well.

Not to worry, I've managed to change the original graphic

Cheers anyway

I do wonder about a similar problem I've had, though. If I make one element transparent (not grouped or anything, definitely just the one item), sometimes other elements on the page shift colors. The item I'm changes doesn't overlap the others or anything, and it not only affects the screen display but the printout as well. It's almost as though ID is changing how it calculates colors or something.

Is this a known issue? (This is all with ID 2, btw.)
