Hello all

I have installed the Netbackup Business Server on a Windows 2000 Server Box. I used the CD that says Netbackup Business Server for Windows. I am trying to backup my Unix boxes AIX & Solaris. I was told by the Netbackup Support person that the unix client will be pushed by the cd to the unix client.

But I cant find any unix client on the cd. I can ping the unix machines from my windows box. when I try to go through creating a policy I cannot connect to any of the unix boxes. I even tried using the cd that is for installing the Netbackup business Server for unix, when you try to run the ./install the only options available are for Netbackup

1 NetBackup Add-On Product Software
2 NetBackup Database Agent Software

where is the Client for UNIX?

thanks in advance.

mohsenm,

Put the Unix NB cd in the cdrom. Browse the cd til
you find a directory called NBClient. Traverse that
tree until you find the appropriate platform/OS. i.e
/Solaris/Solaris8 or whatever. Then run the
ftp_to_client <unixbox> root. Where unixbox is the
hostname. The only caveat it that you'll have to
have root access to the unix box.
