Trying to Install a Multivoip 2410 in a Merlin II

Hello all
Im new into the VOIP communication, and i have the new project to have voice over ip between 2 facilities, one has a Norswtar PBX and is connected to a Multivoip 2410 and is working fine, the other facility has a Merlin II PBX V 3.0 and i connect another Multivoip 2410 to the DS1 port, i cannot make any call, i get the dial tone but when i make the call it doesnt connect to nothing at all.

I wan to know if this is a Version Upgrade Issue or if I have to install a CSU module or what am I doing wrong.

If you haven't already done so, you will need to set these up as E&M Tie Lines.

Yes, i have, I setup the Multivoip to make a loop between channel 1 and 2, i can get i dial tone from the trunk line 813 (channel 1 in the multivoip) and then i dial the number i setup in the outbound book, in connects to the channel 2 but it stays there...

I Have setup the lines as E&M Tie lines, Type 5 and the intype and outype as Wink.

Are you really using a MERLIN II?

There was no REGULAR T1 Programming for a Merlin II.

this PBX was here when we bought this facility, i dont have any manual or guide to look into.
The people we bought it from told us this info.

You can replace the processor with a LEGEND.

I would recommend the R7.

Just Curious, Where did you get the T1 Card and How did you do the programming?

Ok,
Bordercom sold me the 100D 1DS1 Trunk.
The multivoip 2410 T1 i got it from Nextwarehouse.

I just installed the 100D in the expansive module of the PBX, then i connected the Multivoip to the 100D with a crossover cable. Then what i programmed whas the Ties Line on the main console.
The crossover cable from the 100D to the Multivoip is a 2 pair cable, pin 1 to pin 4 and pin 2 to pin 5.

Do i need a CSU module if i get the R7 processor?

Well, considering the MultiVoip makes the T1 right there at the PBX, I don't think you really need a CSU.

Sometimes they help in trouble shooting.

I have problems with the multitech crap. Have you put the 2 boxes together and tried to call between them?

You dont need a t1 card. The multitech can emulate fxs or fxo ports.

Test your inbound and outbound phonebook by hooking a straight through patch cable from one box to the other...

Im getting the R7 processor and then try this. I hope i can get it by tomorrow.
With the R7 processor am i going to be able to use the WinSPM to programming the card? or will i have to do it from the main console?

Actually, the only way you will be able to program is with SPM or WINSPM, because your console is not an MLX-20.

Does anyone know where can i get winspm for windows xp, the processor i have now is R7.

I have only the updates i dont have the software to install it.

Avaya's web site, download either Upgrade 4 or 5. One of those is a full install actually, not an upgrade.

Then upgrade from there to R9.
