Hi,

We have a very important server which is installed on a PC
(ye ye I know on the way to get a real server with RAID)
I found out today that I have bad sectors on the server disk, I must transfer the system + data as is and make it work the same on another HD.

of course I tried GHOST, but it wouldn't work becuase of the bad sectors :
I copied the system partition to another HD,
the big question how do I make this HD to reboot and load W2K?
where is that good old command SYS C:......

pls do help...

Hey, make your did for today!

Insert the Windows 2000 Server CD or use the disks and do a Boot Sector recovery. It will patch up your boot.ini.. also, you can tell GHOST to skip bad sectors.. look at the commands in GHOST.

"In space, nobody can hear you click..."

I tried telling ghost to ignore the bad sectors, but I think it was really in the start of the drive so it didn't work.

I ran FIXMBR, and it didn't work...

if I will run the Repair W2K would it delete my settings?

any ideas what can I do?
