I have done a count on another field. Now I am trying
to tell CR's to add together the mins in a certain field
I.E

Remaining minutes.( In our outlook form we have categories which get filled out according to how long it will take to finish the job. So it's under the main field Remaining in minutes I would like to make a running total to add together say...

Desktop 80
Mechanical 90
Planning 90

THis is really hard to explain.
How do I specify a field that is numeric.
I know when it is a string you would do this.

{Prepress WIP (B.Remaining (minutes) (User Defined)} sum ["Desktop", "Mechanical"]

Thats pretty much what I want to do, but it won't let me
select those values because they are defined numeric.

Make sense?

thanks
Peter

when you say totext(date) or totext(number)
it basically pushes the data into a text so it can be "read" by the computer the right way...

this is how you would concatenate a string that has some numbers in it too..like this:

"Hi this is Lisa, I am now on book " + totext(booknumber)

will give you this:

Hi, this is Lisa, I am now on book 3

I dont know if this is what you want or need but thats how
the totext function works...
