I'm trying to add a Domain user as a local power user. When I do I get this message. "Object Picker cannot open because no locations from which to choose objects could be found" All the solutions from microsoft say to start a registry service on the Server. That service was already running. I started and stop it but still same results.

This computer SP3 all the others have sp2. Could this be the problem?

This is the only solution i have found so far

Silly question, but have you tried simply typing in the user information?

I get the same message when I type in the full user and domain name or just the user name.

My mistake the username then the domain name worked fine.

But if i try to go through the browse box to the list of users on the domain and select that user I get that error message still.

Sounds as if you may have a dns issue or at the very least a browser issue. Check to be sure that the user logged on has permission to browse the domain.
