Have XP Pro Installed, Installed VISTA on 2nd partition, both boot fine.
Now I decided I want to remove VISTA.
Read how to in Microsoft KB919529.
C:\>z:\boot\BOOTSECT.EXE -NT52 ALL /force
Rebooted and Windows Boot Manager Program is still there.
Maybe somebody can help me.
Thanks in advance.
This is the output from running the above; I see errors but don’t know why:
C:\>z:\boot\BOOTSECT.EXE -NT52 ALL /force
Target volumes will be updated with NTLDR compatible bootcode.
C: (\\?\Volume{93a29214-3d1d-11db-93b3-806d6172696f})
Could not move the volume file pointer to the bootcode location:
The system cannot find the path specified.
D: (\\?\Volume{0035c0c2-3ca7-11dc-bcd9-0016cffd291d})
Updated NTFS filesystem bootcode. The update may be unreliable since the
volume could not be dismounted during the update:
Access is denied.
E: (\\?\Volume{f4eaf487-3c87-11dc-bcd4-0016cffd291d})
Forced dismount complete, open handles to this volume are now invalid.
Successfully updated NTFS filesystem bootcode.
\Device\HarddiskVolume1
Successfully updated FAT filesystem bootcode.
Bootcode was successfully updated on at least one volume.
