1/1 on isl trunking 1

2/14 desirable n-isl trunking 1

This is the configuration of the trunks connecting a Cat5505 running 5.5.5 uplinking to the core, a Cat6509 running 6.1.2.

Is there any reason we'd be seeing errors with the trunk programed in this fashion?

Thanks,

When I set up trunking on 6509s feeding 4000s I found the easiest way to do the following:- set trunk on - on both ends -dot1Q- and -nonegotiate-. I also cleared all of the vlans so no pruning of unused vlans was necessary. If the lines are going to be used for trunking setting them into the on mode just guarantees that without any headaches. This setup eliminates unnecessary propagation of DTP frames.

In addition, the 4000 series switches do not support isl so that is why I used dot1q.
