We have a customer that follow me to set on a phone that rings a cell phone. Is it possible to make the caller id show up on the cell phone from the caller instead of the company caller id?

No, is mostly not allowed of the provider and will give errors on the line Cause 100 (100 - Invalid information elements contents).
After many errors the line will be resetet.

The correct answer to your question is maybe. What type of lines do the customer have on the IP Office? If they have an ISDN PRI and the LEC allows you to manipulate the CLI to the PSTN the answer is yes. I have done this on may IP Office installations.

Thanks

They are on a PRI and we can manipulate the outbound caller id on normal outbound calls. I tested this yesterday to make sure we were set up to manipulate the outbound caller id service. How did you get yours working?

There are several steps to get this working.

1. Create a Phantom User. In my example I created BobbyCell with a user extension number of 4200.
2. In the forwarding tab of the phantom user check forward unconditional and enter a number that is not in your dial plan or a number that does not conflict with your shortcodes. (In my example I enter 74200)
3. Create a system shortcode that look like this:
Shortcode=Number that you unconditionally forwarded the phantom station to (74200 is my entry).
Telephone Number=The telephone number of the cellphone (without any prefix such as 9)followed by 2 lowercase ss. In my example the Telephone Number Field is populated as 7045551212ss
Line Group=The ISDN PRI trunk group
Feature=Dial

This should work for you. Let me know if it helps.

Outgoing CLI used to work fine before version 2 with Assisted Transfers in VMPro. I would have a custom voicemail attendant that would have an option to do an assisted transfer to a phantom extension which was forwarded unconditional to a cell phone. Since version 2 this has stopped working, unfortunately but I will try the scenario above.

Thanks
