I am trying to find a relationship between trunk pools, ARS and alternate routing. Does anyone know if the Legend has the capability to overflow one pool to another if all trunks are busy? Can this be done in ARS? Does alternate or overflow routing exist in the Legend? I want to give my customer more flexiblity with their trunking as follows: if the T-1 dies, can that trunk pool overflow to another pool? This way they can still call out even though it may be limited on trunks, as opposed to not getting out at all! Since everyone uses ARS, management does not want users to have trunk pool access codes and this makes it more transparent to the user.

I have been reading various Legend manuals looking for an overview of ARS, but have not found one, or a decent explanation. It seems to be very limited. Am I right?
I have mostly programmed & serviced NT Meridian and Siemems SATURN switches and some Panasonic digitals. These have tons of flexibility in the ARS/LCR department. Any input would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

In ARS you have day/night capabilities, multiple routes which can be different day and night, FRL ( similar to class of service) defining who gets to use the facilities, digit manipulation (can absorb and insert). I suggest you examine the system planning forms for ARS and the directions for filling them out in the System Planning Guide for more information.
