Hi,

Need a bit of help with this one.....

We have a server running IIS set to windows challenge response only.

If I try to log in from my NT desktop it all works seemlessly, and I'm not prompted to sign in. However if I log onto the server itself using the same NT userID / password it doesn't work, and I have to enter my user ID and password to log in to the applciation using IIS.

On both my desktop and on the server, my user ID is set to belong to the local admin group.

Bit stumped, thought it might be some kind of problem with domains ? Apparently it stopped working a couple of months ago, which suggests to me that some security policy might have changed somewhere.

Cheers,

Dave

have you checked your default logon domain on the server for IIS?

Do you mean the user account thats used to run the IIS Admin Service..? Its set to local system account.

I think the problem is that the server is on an old untrusted domain thats being phased out. All users and all IIS authentication is routed through a list on the new domain, which is where its throwing a wobbler....

Were going to upgrade the server to the new domain and hopefully it should do the trick.
