All,

I've got a Norstar MICS connected via PRI to the LEC's 5ESS.

I have several DID's configured onto the PRI, and OLI is configured on the sets where the DID appears. Outbound calling works fine; Inbound works fine.

Problem is with Forward No Answer and Forward Busy. The call is forwarded OK, except there's no OLI information being passed, so the external voicemail unit doesn't take the call directly to the desired mailbox.

Any suggestions how I can get the system to attach the right outbound information to forwarded calls?

If you call a phone with caller id from one of these sets with OLI setup, do you get the caller id info? If you do then the OLI info is being passed, or as a test fwd one of these sets to that caller id phone and see if the info is passed. And what are you using to integrate you vm with the vm?

Roldan,

If I place a call from the set, the correct OLI is sent; however if I forward the set in question (either FNA, fixed-forward, or forward on busy) to the same caller-ID equipped phone, I get no caller ID information... That's the part that has me scratching my head...

The VMail service is being provided by the LEC. If I call the Vmail DN directly from the users set, I get presented with the user's personal ID, and the password prompt - the Octel receives the correct Caller ID info, and know's "who it is"

If a call is allowed thru to voicemail as a FNA or Fwd on Busy, the caller is presented with a "Enter the # of the party you are trying to reach" message - indicating that the caller ID info is not being passed correctly.

Thanks!

Heath

Is there any work-arround to this, to allow the Telco V/Mail to work in this configuration?

LET ME ASK YOU QUESTION, IF YOU WERE NORTEL WOULD YOU HAVE A WORK AROUND?

In my mind, the system is currently 'broken'; which is to say that it does not do what I want it to.

I can't be the first person to want to use off-site voicemail with a Norstar, so I'm having a hard time accepting that there's no work arround for it.

Thanks...

Heath

THE NORSTAR WILL WORK WITH OFFSITE VOICEMAILS, BUT ONLY WHEN THE CALLS COME IN ON FB'S AND THEN IT IS LIKE A GENERAL DELIVERY MAILBOX FOR THE COMPANY

This setup should work, I've got a similar setup with one of my customers the only time I've had issues is with multiple DID's ringing on a single phone (like a secretary phone). What are you using to integrate your VM with the Norstar?

HE'S NOT, THE VOICEMAIL IS IN THE CENTRAL OFFICE
