Hi!
We have the Avaya Partner System set-up with three lines. We have one number that people call but three actual phone numbers and lines. About 2 days ago our entire phone system went out. We had to hook up a wireless headset to the main outlet even to use one phone. Now, we got the phones to work again, however, the night mode is no longer set up at all. The voice mail button we used to click (the upper right hand button) no longer prompts the voice mail either. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

Is the date/time on the phones correct? If not, this can be an indication that programming has been lost. If this is the case the options are:

Restore from a backup if the system has a backup card and a backup has been done.

Reprogram the system. If this is the only option available it will be worth the money to get a competent phone tech at site to do this.

You didn't state what type of Partner. If it is an ACS there is a battery compartment that holds "AAA" batteries to hold system programming during a power outage. An indication these are weak/bad is the diaplay on X10 (and 11 too I think) will prompt you to replace the batteries. This will help hold the programming during a power outage.

Thank you for your response, HOWEVER, we have already had a tech come out and didn't help the situation except for getting our phones to ring again. Here's a little more information. It is a Partner ACS system. We are trying to get the voice mail and Night Mode to work again. Sorry, I am no genius in this area. Just trying to fix our phones any other questions I can answer if you need me to. Please HELP!

On a phone - If you press intercom and dial 777 what happens? If you get a busy signal then the system has lost programming for VM or the VM is bad.

To drill this down a little more - On a phone with a display and a VM key, press "Feature" ,"00" and then the VM button. The display should change to something like Intercom 777. If it says "blank", then this is a solid indication prgramming has been lost.

If you want to try a system restore from a backup (assuming there is a backup card on the system and a backup file), this video may help.

About 2 minutes in, it covers how to do a restore. I would review the whole video since you will also be able to do a backup if you make system changes.

Good luck - If there is a restore file on that card you should be up and running quickly. If not, I would advise you get a tech that knows Partner to your site. You really need to know how all the programming works together to program these right.

It did not say blank. It went to hunt group. When we did a system restore that is what left us with this issue.

What happens when you dial intercom and then 777? Do you hear a prompt? If so, what prompt?

When I press intercom and dial 777 it is giving us a busy signal now which it didnt just do the first time...AHHH this is so frustrating!

UPDATE! What I now realized is I need to program a DXD/ASA button and assign it to extension 10. How do I do this?

What rev of ACS do you have? I can send you a piece of the manual that covers that. Usually on the face of the processor...

I have a card in the slot somewhere in the back. A DXD card I think? I'm so confused.

You are correct. The ASA/DXD module is a PCMCIA card on the ACS processor. I attached the manual pertaining to the ASA/DXD programming. I have the R3 manual which I can email you if you would like to provide me your email address. The manual is actually quite good...

My email address is SLGaymes@gmail.com. And now I have the night mode button that will turn on and off. I just can't set it up.
