I used Frontpage to create an intranet for our hospital. There are sections containing policies and procedures for various departments. The biggest reason was to have one place for nursing care. Instead of paper, there is now one place to go for the most current policy/procedure.

I used the Search function that came with Frontpage and this allowed users to type in word(s), click search and then get a list of documents containing the words.

I haven't changed anything but all of a sudden over the last 4 days, the Search function is no longer working. For example, I type the word protocol, click Search and no document is returned. I know for a fact there is a document titled Protocol.

Sometimes I type a word and a couple of documents are listed but they don't have anything to do with the criteria I entered.

I don't know what to do. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Corey,

Thanks. I just want to check with you, when I go to administration of FP server extensions and select Uninstall it gives the option for a full uninstall and has a caveat that some things may not work even after a reinstall. I'm a little nervous because this is new territory for me.

I have the knowledge base article Q300543 How to use command line tools to install and configure FP2002 server extensions. Is this the best guide?

Sorry if I sound basic but I'm not very knowledgeable in this area and don't want to take down my whole intranet.

Thanks,
Kris

Hi Corey,

I did check the server health and recalculate the web and still no luck.

No, I don't FTP to the site.

Thanks again for responding so quickly.

Good morning Corey,

I believe I'm making the changes live as when I go into FrontPage and open the web the address is: (porter_pdc is the name of our server).

Our server is running NT 4.0. I have the FP2002 extensions running and IIS.

Thanks again for your efforts!

Kris

Yes youd should be. Also when you are signed on to thr e server - you can go to Tools - Server - Adminstration.

I have an ASP script that we give to our clients - I can send that to you if you would like. MIght be better for the search features as well.Gives you the ability to see what has been searched for as well.

Corey,

The script sounds like it might be good to try. Does it search just my intranet site or the whole web?
