I have a MICS 2.0 with v5.07 and an 8x24 connected via gateway. I'm using extensions 2xx. Some extensions are on the MICS and the others are on the 8x24. I've setup a route with an access code and using a pool in the MICS. The problem I have is the system will not let me enter say 247 as a destination code. Do I have to disable the port in order to enter the destination code for the extension?

What I'm trying to accomplish is when a caller dials an extension on the MICS and the extension dialed is on the 8x24 the destination route would take the call to that extension on the 8x24.

Your destination codes have to be different then your extensions. If it wont allow you to enter 247 as a dest code, then there is an extension 247 that will need to be renumbered.

What's the best way to push the calls to the other set of extensions on the 8x24 without having to change extensions?

With CDP private network you must have different extension plans.
UDP private network will allow similar extension plans, but require a proceeding code to be dialed before the extension number. I would suggest modifying the DN plan on one of the systems.

Any suggestions on the DN plan? I'm really trying not to change published extensions.

If they are both using 221 as a start DN, see if they are fine using 2221 on one and 3221 on the other, or 221 and 321...that will change what they dial locally and remotely.

Otherwise, use UDP and use a steering code in front of the remote DN string. To call DN 230 remotely, you would need to dial, say, 55230. Your private network plan will strip the 55
